One very important key to a strong and long lasting fence is what you can’t see, which is underground. Many competitors install posts by digging the hole, putting the post in, pouring a bag or two of concrete and then moving the post around until its where you want it. This causes the concrete to flow under the post and in turn encapsulating the post which traps water and doesn’t let the post dry out. We have replaced many pressure treated posts where the base was completed rotted in less than 10 years and almost every one was completely encapsulated. Proper way is to place gravel in the bottom of the hole, place the post where it needs to be, add a little more gravel then fill with concrete. This assures that the post will not be encapsulated and let the post dry out.

On field fencing, the corner bracing and H-posts are the next key factor to make sure your fence stays nice and tight throughout the years. We don’t take any shortcuts. Using high tensile wire, wire tensioners, post pins and spending the extra time to make sure tie offs are tight and clean.
